Dip Shropshire

Wild Swimming

14th June 11-5

Millenium Green

Dip Shropshire is an exciting new Arts Council funded project happening this Summer, that explores, examines and celebrates the variety of wild swimming, and the fresh water sites that exist here in Shropshire.
Internationally recognised and award winning author Andrew Fusek Peters’ latest book ‘Dip, Wild Swims and Stories from the Borderlines’ has been turned into a unique multimedia project by the Shropshire Media Network, involving over 15 local artists and professionals.
Dip Shropshire is a series of 8 outdoor workshops that link wild swimming, and exploration of the stunning landscape of Shropshire to creativity, including photography, animaton, filmmaking, creative writing and poetry, giving people the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of art forms all with the guidance of professional artists.

Young people and their parents can come for a wild swim* in the River Teme, explore the stunning surrounding landscape and then explore animation with Sandra Salter, and creative writing and poetry with Andrew Fusek Peters. In the afternoon we will come together for a sharing of the days’ work, listen to a reading of the book Dip, and watch a short film that explores the wet and wild places in Shropshire. Please note that the Millennium Green is a public access area, and you may swim, but at your own risk. Tickets £10 Ages 12 and above. 01584878141
